Hurricane Dorian’s destruction leaves Bahamians desperate

Hurricane Dorian has been downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone after having left a trail of devastation in the Bahamas.

Thousands of people there are trying to flee Dorian’s catastrophic aftermath. The death toll is now at 43 but is expected to rise sharply. The storm is still packing dangerously strong winds as it whips Canada’s Atlantic coast. Hurricane warnings remain in effect for parts of the provinces of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, where more than 300 thousand people have already lost power.
