A retired Israeli general says the regime’s former minister of military affairs met with three Syrian militants during the war on the Arab country.
Major General Gershon Hacohen said he was present during the meeting between Moshe Ya’alon and the militants. But he declined to say when the meeting happened. Ya’alon stepped down as Israel’s minister of military affairs in 20-16, while Hacohen retired from the army in 20-14.
Damascus has repeatedly accused Israel of helping militants fighting the Syrian army. Israel denies the charge, saying it has only delivered humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees.
