US names DPRK ‘sponsor of terror’

Nine years since the DPRK was removed from the US list of “sponsors of terror”, President Donald Trump this week put the country back on that list, along with Iran, Syria and Sudan. Trump also said that he would trigger “very large” additional sanctions to put “maximum pressure” on Pyongyang.

Meanwhile, three US aircraft carrier battle groups are now gathering in waters near the Korean Peninsula. With sabers rattling and tensions on the rise, what will happen next between these two major players? And what can other countries do to help avert a conflict and remove nuclear weapons from the region?
