The Syrian army says it has discovered large quantities of chemical materials and weapons in mop-up operations in the newly-recaptured city of Dayr al-Zawr.
Military officials said the weapons included booby-traps, drones, bombs, ground mines and explosive belts, which were left behind by foreign-backed terrorists. Damascus says Deash terrorists used the weapons and the chemical materials against civilians in the city. On Friday, Syrian forces and their allies took full control of Dayr al-Zawr, the last major Daesh stronghold in the country. The Takfiri group is being driven out of Syria and neighboring Iraq, losing the territories it had controlled since 2014.
