Many Kenyans have become fascinated by the judge who overturned President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election over vote fraud allegations. It is the first time in the country’s history that an election petition has gone against a sitting president.
The move by Chief Justice David Maraga and three of his colleagues was unexpected and unprecedented in Africa where governments often hold sway over the judiciary.
