Italy’s Rome may start rationing water supply due to prolonged drought
People living in Rome, Italy’s capital, may start having their water supply rationed to deal with a prolonged drought that has hit much of the country.
The region says it needs to stop using water from a lake north of the capital because its levels are dangerously low.
Lake Bracciano provides some of Rome’s water supply.
There could be staggered supply shutdowns in different Rome neighbourhoods for eight hours a day, starting from this weekend.
