Any doubt that Labour might fight on a platform that would keep Britain in Europe is over.
Jeremy Corbyn, a strong supporter of freedom of movement, has bowed to the wishes of the shadow cabinet to reject it. Labour does say it will fight to stay in the Customs Union, and for some kind of associate membership – and it pledges to give the three million Europeans living here guarantees to remain before negotiations begin.
